v1.19.4 — A public Trust & Security page, and a footnote copy-paste fix

A new /trust page lays out, in plain language, how Folio protects your work and proves what’s yours — independently verifiable Integrity Certificates, database-enforced access, no data mining, and self-service export & deletion. Also: copying a footnote or citation marker within a document no longer breaks the original’s numbering, and a Discovery Agent’s RSS/Atom feed link now opens a page you can actually read instead of a login wall.

A public Trust & Security page

/trust is a new page for anyone evaluating Folio — not just institutions — that lays out how your work is protected: the Integrity Certificate's independently verifiable provenance chain, database-level (row-level security) access enforcement, a plain "we don't mine your work" statement, and self-service export & deletion from Settings → Account. Every claim on the page links to something you can go check yourself, rather than asking you to take our word for it. Linked from the site footer and the homepage's trust band.

Fixed

  • Copying a footnote or citation marker within a document could scramble the original's numbering. Pasting a copied footnote or footnote-mode citation elsewhere in the same doc reused the original marker's internal id, so the two markers collided — the note number shown could point at the wrong position, and clicking either marker sometimes jumped to the wrong note. The pasted marker now gets its own id automatically; nothing to redo on documents you've already written.
  • A Discovery Agent's RSS/Atom feed sent readers to a login wall. The feed is meant to be pasted into Feedly or opened on a phone, but its "visit site" link pointed at the owner-only dashboard — anyone opening it without a Folio account got bounced to /login with no way back. If the agent's results are shared publicly, the feed now links to that public page instead; if not, the dashboard link now returns you to the article after signing in rather than dropping you on a blank dashboard.
  • "Hot in your field" could keep briefing you on an old field of study. The Discovery Agent that surfaces new work in your field picked its topic once, the day it was created, and never revisited it. Changing your field of study in your profile now updates the agent too — unless you'd already customized its search yourself, which we leave alone.
