This release sharpens the checks that make Folio trustworthy — and makes the reader quicker.
Your references, reconciled
The Manuscript Integrity Report now cross-checks your references both ways:
- Incomplete references — it flags any cited source missing an author, year, or title, so you fix it before a reviewer notices.
- Added but not cited — it tells you which sources are sitting in your library but never actually cited, so nothing is forgotten or left as padding.
(Citations pointing at a source that's no longer in your library were already flagged — that continues.)
Verify a quote against the real PDF
If Quote Check flags a quotation as "not found," you can now open the source PDF straight from the panel and Folio searches it for that passage. Sometimes the wording is fine and the extracted text was just messy — now you can see for yourself in seconds.
A nudge from your reading
A source you've highlighted or annotated but haven't cited yet now gets a gentle "annotated · not cited" tag in the Sources panel — turning your reading into your next citation.
Smaller things
- Find in a PDF — search the open document and step through every match.
- ⌘-click a citation (Ctrl-click on Windows) to open that source in the reader.
- Page navigation — a page counter with previous/next, plus a button to open the original PDF.
- Faster, offline-friendly loading — PDFs now load from Folio itself rather than an outside service, so the reader keeps working even on locked-down networks.
