Export to DOCX
Export your full document as a Word file. The export includes all formatted text, inline citations, and a complete bibliography in your chosen citation style.
To export, click the Export button in the editor toolbar and select DOCX. The file downloads immediately.
What's included in the export:
- All document text with formatting (headings, lists, tables, bold, italic)
- Inline citations formatted to your selected style
- A bibliography at the end of the document
- Footnotes, if your citation style uses them (e.g. Chicago notes-bibliography)
Export bibliography only
You can export just the reference list without the full document. This is useful when you need to submit a standalone bibliography or import your references into another tool.
Supported formats:
- Plain text — formatted reference list, ready to paste
- BibTeX — for LaTeX workflows and reference managers
- RIS — for importing into Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, and similar tools
Citation style on export
The bibliography exports in whatever citation style is currently set for the document. If you need a different format, change the style in document settings before exporting — all citations and the bibliography reformat instantly.
Available on all plans
Document export is available on Scholar (free), Fellow, and Chair plans. There are no limits on how many times you can export.
