As you write, Folio's AI offers subtle inline suggestions — completing a sentence, suggesting alternative phrasing, or flagging a weak claim. Suggestions appear as ghost text after your cursor. Press Tab to accept, keep typing to dismiss. Think autocomplete, but academically aware — it understands citation context, argument structure, and disciplinary conventions.
Why it matters
Cold Start and Proofreading are on-demand tools — you trigger them when you're ready. Inline suggestions are different. They're continuous and ambient, reducing friction in the moment of writing. The best writing tools help you while you're thinking, not just before or after. A well-timed sentence completion can keep you in flow instead of stalling at a transition.
Where we are
Exploratory. We want to get this right — inline suggestions can be more annoying than helpful if they're poorly tuned, too aggressive, or not relevant to the context. We're researching the right interaction model before committing to a timeline.
