Bug Fixesv1.19.2

v1.19.2 โ€” Co-editors are now part of the certificate chain

Real-time co-editing and Integrity Certificates finally agree: edits made by a collaborator, not just the document owner, are now recorded in the tamper-evident history the certificate attests to. Also: a blank multi-select question no longer confuses survey branching logic, status pills read correctly in dark mode, a stale claim-check flag no longer lingers after you've already fixed it, onboarding offers Research Radar as a fifth way to get started, and institutions can no longer accidentally open domain-based enrollment to an entire country's worth of schools.

Fixed

  • A co-editor's work could vanish from the certificate's history. Folio has long supported real-time co-editing, but the record an Integrity Certificate is built from only ever accepted entries from the document's owner. If a collaborator edited a section while the owner wasn't connected, that edit still made it into the final document โ€” it just never entered the version history the certificate attests to. That's now fixed: edits from anyone with editor access are recorded in the chain the same way the owner's are. Viewers and reviewers still can't write to it, and a collaborator can only ever record their own edits, never someone else's. The public certificate page itself is unchanged by this โ€” it still reports on the document as a whole, not a per-author breakdown.
  • A blank multi-select question could send a survey respondent down the wrong branch. Show/hide/skip-to logic keyed on "answered" or "not answered" for a checkbox-style question treated an empty selection as answered โ€” the opposite of how the rest of Surveyor treats it. A respondent who looked at a multi-select question and left it blank could be silently routed to the wrong follow-up, or skip one they should have seen. Branching logic now agrees with the rest of the app on what "answered" means.
  • Document status pills were hard to read in dark mode. On your documents list, the "Complete" and "Submitted" pills used light-mode colors with no dark-mode counterpart, so they showed up as a pale wash against the dark page background. They now use the same adaptive colors as the rest of the app.
  • Fixing a flagged claim through the Smart Suggestion panel didn't always clear the flag. Accepting a source suggested inline via Smart Suggestions inserted the citation but, unlike every other way of citing a flagged claim, didn't tell the claim checker the claim was resolved โ€” so the amber card and underline could stay visible even though you'd already fixed it. Now they clear immediately, the same as any other citation path.

Security

  • Domain-based enrollment could be opened to more than one institution at once. An admin setting up email-domain enrollment could enter a shared academic suffix โ€” like ac.uk or edu.au โ€” that covers every school in a country rather than their own campus, letting someone at an unrelated institution self-provision in. That's now blocked at save time, alongside the existing block on public webmail domains (gmail.com and similar).

Also new

  • Onboarding now offers Research Radar as a way to start. The first-run screen previously only offered ways to start writing. It now also offers to set up a Radar feed โ€” follow a topic, author, or journal and get a digest on your schedule โ€” for anyone whose first move in Folio is closer to "keep me posted" than "start a draft." See Using Research Radar.
